Women’s 2nd Annual HPDI at NCM Motorsports Park

Second Annual Women’s HPDI Experience at NCM Motorsports Park

Last October, the NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky hosted it’s inaugural Mobil 1 Women’s High Performance Driving Introduction event.  As part of an effort spearheaded by the Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA) organization, the National Corvette Museum and the NCM Motorsports Park have created a variety of programs that encourage and promote women of all ages to get involved in the exciting world of motorsports.

On August 18th, the NCM Motorsports Park will host its second-annual Women In Motorsports High Performance Driving Introduction (HPDI) event.  This unique “ladies-only event” is the ideal opportunity for women of all driving skill levels to test their mettle on the MSP’s 3.2-mile, 23-turn road course racetrack!

As with last year, this Second-Annual Women’s HPDI event, promises to be an amazing experience for all involved.  Although I cannot speak first-hand to the experiences shared by last year’s participants, the feedback that we received at Corvsport.com was universally positive.  Moreover, each and every one of my own driving/learning experiences with the various HPD programs at the Motorsports Park have been second-to-none.   Their instructors are knowledgable and engaging, their facilities are state-of-the-art, and the entire atmosphere is inviting and inclusive to all participants, whether beginning drivers or seasoned racers.

Participation is Women’s HPDI is pretty straight-forward.  All that attendees need to participate in this event are a car (and it doesn’t have to be a sports car), a passion for driving, and a desire to learn!  The MSP’s staff of professional instructors will skillfully guide attendees through a day long regiment of classroom and on-track activities.   Known for providing drivers/students of all skill levels with opportunities to experience the thrill of driving on a racetrack, the MSP’s staff creates a fun, safe, and supportive learning environment designed to enhance your skills as a driver while also creating personal memories that will last a lifetime.

As stated earlier, your day at the Motorsports Park will be divided between a series of classroom and on-track experiences.

Classroom Topics Include:

  • High-performance driving procedures
  • Vehicle safety requirements
  • Personal protective equipment requirements
  • Event safety procedures
  • Communicating with your instructor on and off the track
  • Basic performance driving techniques
  • How to get the most out of performance-driving

On-Track and Skidpad Skills:
