The Tesla Model S Plaid has gained a reputation among internet enthusiasts as a formidable contender in drag racing, often outperforming gasoline-powered supercars priced twice as high. Equipped with three motors, the Model S Plaid boasts a total output of 1,020 horsepower and 1,420 Nm of torque.
In a recent carwow video, Mat Watson and his team got their hands on a 1,200hp C8 Corvette for a drag race against a modified Model S Plaid featuring Koenigsegg carbon fiber aero enhancements at the front and rear, and a parachute.
The C8 Corvette is powered by a 6.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that has been tuned to produce 1,200 horsepower and 1,491 Nm of torque. Notably, the vehicle’s performance is further optimized for rear-wheel-drive (RWD) drag racing with the replacement of the wheels.
