The 2019 Corvette ZR1 is the ultimate front-engine Corvette and the peak of Corvette performance right now. Yes, the C8 mid-engine Corvette is about a month away and will likely steal the crown from the current ZR1, but until that happens, this is the king of the Corvette universe. So, what the heck would you trade a ZR1 in for? Well, another ZR1, of course.
This sounds silly until you hear the full story. According to Corvette Forum, a dealer in Louisville, Kentucky recently took a 2019 Corvette ZR1 as a trade in. The car had fewer than 200 miles on the odometer. What he bought was another Corvette ZR1. Why would he do that? Apparently, he was sold a Corvette ZR1 in a different color and without the package and options he wanted. He traded in the car he owned for a ZR1 in Shadow Grey with the ZTK package that he originally wanted.
The original car he owned he bought because the salesman told him the ZR1 was a rare car and if he didn’t act fast and buy the car he would likely not be able to get one. When he found out the dealership in Kentucky had the Corvette ZR1 he really wanted he decided to trade in the car he didn’t actually want.
We think the salesman he originally bought the car from probably could have secured him the vehicle he really wanted. It was a crafty salesman move to get him in the car.
