That Sound Is Intoxicating

We’ve reported on the Hennessey HPE1000 in the past, but that was the Z06 model. The car is a beast of a machine. Hennessey takes the regular C7 Corvette and turns it into an absolute monster with 1,008 hp and 918 lb-ft of torque. Now, the company has done it with the Grand Sport. Hennessey can take the Grand Sport C7 Corvette that you currently have and turn it into a serious powerhouse.

The company recently shared a video of the HPE1000 tearing around the Pennzoil Proving Grounds. In the video, one of Hennessey’s employees is behind the wheel going through what the car is and what it can do. The video is only a little over two minutes long, but it’s worth a watch if you’re curious about this car.

The car sounds like an absolute racecar, and the guy in the video says as much. The car in the video is a black C7 Grand Sport that has undergone the Hennessey treatment. It gets ported and polished cylinder heads, a camshaft grind, and a supercharger. Then Hennessey adds an improved fuel system to feed the car to feed the motor among some other components.

The car will sprint to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and do the quarter-mile in 9.7 seconds. It has a top speed of 220 mph, according to Hennessey. When the car undergoes the Hennessey transformation, it receives a specific serial number and a one-year, 12,000-mile warranty. That should provide a little piece of mind for buyers. After that, all they have to do is not drive like an idiot, and try to keep the car under control.
