It’s Odd to Not Hear It
It’s without a doubt that electric cars can be insanely quick. However, that hasn’t really been a part of the Corvette story much at all. Now that may change a bit. The Genovation GXE is just that, an electric Corvette. But make no mistake, this car isn’t built to be a boring green machine. It’s built for high speed runs as demonstrated in the video below.
The car features an internal permanent magnet dual-stack motor. Don’t know what that means? Don’t worry about it. All you really need to know is that it puts out a whopping 800 hp and 718 lb-ft of torque. Yep, this thing has a lot of power. More than any production Vette with an internal combustion engine right now.
The car is built on the 2018 Corvette Grand Sport chassis. As you can imagine, not all Vette fans are enthralled with the unique use of the car. The electronics add about 1,000 pounds to the overall weight of the car. However, that doesn’t keep this thing from being extremely quick. In the video below, it hits a face-altering 210 mph.
