In 2016, following Corvette Racing’s successes at the 2015 Daytona Rolex 24 and Sebring 12 Hours, Chevrolet introduced the Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition. This special edition was created to celebrate the racing achievements of the C7.Rs, which were engineered by Pratt & Miller in collaboration with Chevrolet.
Interestingly, the C7.R Edition was released before Corvette Racing’s victory in the GTE-Pro class at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans. Production was limited to just 500 units, each with sequential serial numbers. The car featured the powerful Z06 package, including a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine delivering 650 HP, along with advanced suspension, brakes, aero components, and the Z07 package’s additional performance enhancements.
One particular C7.R Edition, with a VIN ending in 700008, is set to be auctioned by Broad Arrow Auctions. This is the eighth of the 500 built and is finished in Corvette Racing Yellow. With only 313 miles on the odometer, this Coupe remains in pristine, time-capsule condition, still bearing the factory protective plastic on its touch-screen display.
The vehicle comes with numerous accessories, such as a special indoor cover featuring C7.R graphics, an additional transparent roof panel, and two keys. The car boasts distinctive exterior features, including yellow brake calipers, black wheels with yellow accents, and visible carbon fiber ground effects.
The Jet-Black leather interior is complemented by suede microfiber accents, carbon fiber trim, and yellow contrast stitching. Additional luxury features include dual-zone climate control, a MyLink Bose audio system, navigation, and heated and ventilated Napa leather seats, among many other comfort and convenience items.
