In 2019, Chevrolet fulfilled its promise of a mid-engined Corvette and continued its racing legacy with the introduction of the 2023 Z06. At the heart of this heritage is the new LT6 all-aluminum V8 engine, a 5.5L DOHC powerhouse derived from the championship-winning C8.R race car.
This 5.5-liter LT6 V8, the largest and most powerful naturally aspirated engine to date, produces 670 HP at 8,400 RPM and 460 lb-ft of torque at 6,300 RPM. Coupled with a paddle-shifted 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, it accelerates the Z06 to 60 MPH in 2.6 seconds, reaching a top speed close to 200 MPH.
