America’s Supercar Goes to the Middle East
We see no reason why drivers in the Middle East should be deprived of the greatness that is the C8 Corvette. Recently a Chevrolet’s media site for the region, ChevroletArabia.com, announced that the new Corvette was available for purchase.
The car will have a starting price of 317,712 AED, which is about $86,500. That’s for cars equipped with the Z51 Performance Package.
The car will be available in twelve colors and only two models. The models are 2LT Convertible and the 3LT Z51 Coupe. Previous reports indicated that the model would be available in other trim packages, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now. Chevrolet will only offer these two trim packages and the twelve colors.
Kelly MacDonald, Chief Marketing Officer, General Motors Middle East & Africa, said: “The 2020 Stingray is the culmination of decades of history and experience – it is the most advanced Corvette yet. The new layout delivers unprecedented performance and preciseness whether on-road or track. We are confident that it will appeal to enthusiasts in the Middle East and exceed their expectations, especially at the price point. It’s our flagship model and we are excited to present it to Corvette loyalists across the region.”
It’s great to see the Corvette becoming a world car. As good as it is, it should be, and it will take on all of the wild exotics out there.
