Expanding the Color Pallet
We expected Chevrolet to have some unique colors for the C8 Corvette. We thought the company would offer something like eight colors. According to recent information from Corvette Blogger, it looks like Chevrolet will provide 12 different colors for the new C8 Corvette.
According to the publication, Chevy sent out commemorative coins to C8 Corvette insiders and on those coins was the key to the color pallet. Here’s the note that came along with the coin:
We’re delighted to present you with this limited-edition keepsake coin. Each coin is emblazoned on the front with the likeness of Zora Arkus-Duntov, considered the ‘father of the Corvette,’ and the new crossed-flags logo on the back. Each is ringed by one of the 12 rich exterior paint colors available on the Next Generation Corvette. Your coin features Blade Silver Metallic.
So, while we don’t know what all of the 12 colors will look like just yet, we do know that there will be 12. It’s exciting to see that Chevy has decided to expand the color pallet for the C8 Corvette. This is a move that makes sense. The C8 Corvette will likely have a wider customer base than any Corvette before it.
The mid-engine design will pull in buyers from outside of the typical GM reach. So, it will make sense to have some additional color options for those seeking something new and different. We’d expect Chevy to have some more subdued hues and them some louder color options. We can’t wait to see what they’ll be at the upcoming reveal.
