The 2019 Grand Sport With Manual Transmission Is A Modern Classic

The 2017-2019 Corvette Grand Sport paid homage to Zora Arkus-Duntov’s 1960s racers while incorporating lessons from Corvette Racing. Based on the seventh-generation Corvette, it combined elements from the Z06 and Z51 performance packages with a naturally aspirated LT1 6.2L V8 engine producing 460 HP.

Specific to the Grand Sport were unique wheels, tires, brakes, and suspension calibration. Key features included dry-sump engine lubrication, electronic limited-slip rear axle, differential and transmission coolers, and an NPP Performance exhaust adding 5 HP. Aerodynamic upgrades included a front splitter, unique rocker panels, wider rear fenders, and a distinctive “wickerbill” rear spoiler.

The 2019 Grand Sport you see here is particularly special, thanks to its rare seven-speed manual transmission. With the move to the mid-engine C8 Corvette, manual transmissions have become a thing of the past, making this model even more desirable for purists who love the engagement of shifting gears.
