As the 1965 model year approached, the design team behind the Chevy Corvette continued to refine the overall design of the C2 Sting Ray, making only minor cosmetic changes in the process. Instead, the focus for the second-generation’s third year centralized on some significant mechanical upgrades that would vastly improve the Corvette's already impressive handling and drivability.
The 1964 Corvette continued to build upon the improvements of the 1963 model year, with a choice of four different engine outputs, three manual transmissions (and one automatic), as well as more technology and creature comforts.
The 1963 Corvette marked a new direction for America's sports car, with a striking design, gorgeous rear split-window, and a selection of four capable V8's. For the performance fan, the 1963 Vette represented a significant leap in ability, and for today's collector, the same can be said of desirability.
