Hennessey Performance, known for their high-powered American vehicles, recently hosted a thrilling drag race event. This showdown featured a stock Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 and a heavily modified Dodge Ram TRX, transformed into the 1,200-horsepower Mammoth 1200 TRX superpickup—one of the most powerful vehicles in Hennessey’s lineup.
The Dodge Ram TRX, upgraded by Hennessey to the Mammoth 1200 TRX, boasts a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates a staggering 1,200 horsepower and 1,315 pound-feet of torque.
In contrast, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 engine with racing lineage, producing 670 horsepower and 625 Nm of torque. Paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Z06 in this race also featured the Z07 performance package, which includes carbon fiber elements. However, these enhancements are more beneficial on the track rather than in a straight-line drag race.
With twice the horsepower and nearly triple the torque, can the Corvette hope to beat the Mammoth 1200 TRX? Watch the video to see how the C8 Corvette Z06 performed against a 1200hp pickup monster!
