This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was built for SCCA B-Production racing and later owned by IMSA-winning driver and Trans Am champion Tomy Drissi. Acquired in the early 1990s, it underwent a refurbishment by Corvette specialist Mike Scott and is now for sale on Bring a Trailer.
Since its debut in 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette has been a staple of American sports car racing. The C2 generation (1963-1967) was dominant, competing in SCCA, Trans Am, and endurance races like the 24 Hours of Daytona and Sebring. The B-Production class, where this Corvette was originally built to compete, was filled with fierce competition, often battling Shelby Cobras, Jaguars, and other high-performance machines.
The fiberglass body is finished in Silver Pearl with black and red racing stripes. It features a low-profile acrylic windshield and a power bulge hood with quick-release pins and fender vents. The soft top, bumpers, headlights, and windows have been removed for weight reduction. It rides on 15-inch Torq-Thrust-style wheels wrapped in Goodyear Blue Streak Sports Car Special racing tires, with four-wheel disc brakes for stopping power.
The driver’s seat is a red leather fixed-back bucket with a five-point cam-lock harness. A Hurst shifter and black leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel are race-focused additions. The dash has a center-mounted AutoMeter Pro-Comp II tachometer and Stewart-Warner auxiliary gauges. Power comes from a Bob Slade-built 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission.
This C2 Corvette race car last raced in 1998, is offered with logbooks and a bill of sale. It is not street-legal but is ideal for historic racing events, track days, or collections. See the full listing on Bring a Trailer and place your bid.
