I’m on all the notable Corvette forums and social media pages all day, every day, and I’ve done the legwork for you. It’s been a busy news cycle the past few weeks, but here are three news items from the Corvette community that I hope you find useful. Thanks for being a faithful CorvSport reader!

1) 2025 Corvette Pricing Released, Most See Increases

It’s certainly a buzzkill for enthusiasts, as not only does the cost of entry for our beloved Corvette continue to increase, but many of the items surrounding the fun have as well. Many of you may recall that for the 2024 model year, we had two price increases. The first, as we reported, came on 7/13/2023. Then, just two and a half months later, GM announced a second increase of $2,100 across all models. For comparison’s sake, I’ve put the 2023, 2024 initial/revised, and 2025 model years next to each other. Note: The prices listed here include a destination freight charge of $1,695, which is unchanged for the 2025 model year.

On a positive note, you’ll notice the Stingray prices remain unchanged–for now! Nevertheless, the pricing trends CorvSport has compiled below do show a “disturbing” trend.

2) 2024 Production Update

We last left off with our production update at the end of May, and by that time, the dedicated workers at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant had cranked out a total of 31,398 eighth-generation Corvettes. Not surprisingly, the bulk of production lay with the Stingray, which came in at 23,864 units. A respectable 7,117 Z06s were assembled, with the E-Ray coming in at 417 units–does that number seem low to you?

Has production been steady since May 31st? Here are the current numbers.

2024 Corvette Production Numbers (Year-To-Date as of 7/29/2024):

  • Stingrays: 28,060
  • Z06s: 8,747
  • E-Rays: 749
  • TOTAL: 37,556

3) How Chevy Honors Executive Chief Corvette Engineer’s 7.31.2024 Retirement

Tadge Juechter started putting his imprint on the Corvette in 1993 and, by 1999, was named the assistant chief engineer. His current title of executive chief engineer of Corvette came just seven years later, enabling him to put his mark on the seventh and eighth-generation Corvettes in a way that earned him the title of “The godfather of the C7 and C8 Corvette” from Car and Driver.

There are many tributes around the journalistic community for Tadge Juechter, the 47-year GM veteran who spent the last 31 years of his career dedicated to making the Corvette what it is today: “America’s Most Iconic Car.” But, the most touching and succinct tribute came from within, with GM President Mark Reuss saying:

Tadge made our vehicles and our company better every day that he came to work, for nearly five decades, with his career culminating in the fastest, most powerful Corvette of them all… ZR1, and all Corvettes that follow, will wear this symbol commemorating his immense contributions and celebrating his legacy forever.

Here is the symbol Mark is referring to, and what a way to send off this “Corvette engineering icon.” Thank you, Tadge, for how you continued and built on the Corvette legacy!

This symbol will be located on the left top of the ZR1’s rear Split Window
