We Want the Testing Results
The publication MotorTrend is one of the better known and respected out there. The publication has become one of the best in the business at testing cars. It’s nice to know that Chevrolet has recognized this. Chevy recently gave MotorTrend a C8 Corvette to test, and now some videos of the car doing its thing have surfaced on social media. The publication’s Features Editor Scott Evans recently posted some videos to his personal Instagram account.
While we’re sure MotorTrend is testing all kinds of performance claims put out by Chevy, we know for sure that the guys are getting behind the wheel to make the most of the launch control feature of the new C8 Corvette. One of the videos that Evans posted was of the car taking off like a bat out of hell. All Evans said in this particular post was, “Launch control. Yeah, there’s no manual, but manuals don’t launch or shift like this.”
While that’s true, we still wish there was a manual option for the C8 Corvette. However, we totally recognize that there’s little push out there from most people to get one. Honestly, the C8 Corvette would be slower with a manual anyway. The new automatic makes the most of the car’s ample power. You can check out the video below.
