“When most of us think of the Corvette, we immediately envision the 1963 Split-Window coupe. It’s perfectly reasonable that your mind would gravitate to this car, despite it being nearly sixty-years old and not an example of the current mid-engine sports car. In all the iterations of the Corvette that have come and gone since Harley Earl introduced us to the original Corvette in January 1953, there has never been a car more sought after, more revered, more ICONIC, than the second-generation Corvette. What’s interesting about this car is that, despite its popularity in the mid-1960s, the second-generation Corvette holds the record for the fewest number of production years of any generation Corvette that has come into being.
