The C7 Corvette Z06 was produced from 2015 to 2019. It stretches the performance envelope for Corvette with unprecedented levels of aerodynamic downforce – and it is the first Corvette Z06 to offer a supercharged engine, an eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission and, thanks to a stronger aluminum frame, a removable roof panel.
The LT4 supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine is SAE-certified at 650 horsepower (485 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque (881 Nm) at 3,600 rpm – making it one of the most powerful production car ever from General Motors and one of the most powerful production cars available in the United States.
With the C7 Corvette Z06 now a thing of the past, a question comes to mind: is it really better a bang-for-the-buck option over the new and more expensive C8 Z06? This is a question that Raiti’s Rides on YouTube will answer for us in this video as he explores the previous-generation Z06.
