To celebrate the departure of the third-generation Corvette, Chevrolet decided to offer a final commemorative “Collectors Edition” model. The Collectors Edition Corvette was also the first to feature a rear lifting glass hatchback, which has since become a standard on all Corvettes built since 1982.
Bring A Trailer offers you the opportunity to acquire a highly original 1982 Collector’s Edition Corvette that has only 23k miles on its five-digit mechanical odometer. Finished in Silver Beige Metallic over Silver Beige leather upholstery with Corvette Collector Edition badging. The car is equipped with a Positraction differential, 15″ turbine-style aluminum wheels, removable glass roof panels, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an AM/FM cassette stereo, a Delco CB radio, cruise control, power windows, and air conditioning.
Power is produced by the time-proven 350 cubic-inch V-8 that also features the “Cross Fire” 350 injection and was rated at a respectable 200 bhp at 4,800 rpm. It then drives the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction differential.
With only 6,759 Collector Edition Corvettes ever made, this is a desirable example that will come with complete documentation which includes manufacturer’s literature, a laminated window sticker and build sheet, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
