With so much hype and anticipation around the C8 Corvette, it seems a lot of buyers are holding off and not purchasing new C7 Corvettes. We’ve noted the slow of C7 Corvette sales over the last year or so, but now it seems there are a lot of C7s out there for sale.
Corvette Blogger reported that there are over 9,000 Corvettes on lots around the country. That’s enough supply for 232 days. Nobody expected C7 Corvette sales to surge in the last year to last few months before the C8 debuts, but this many Corvettes on lots is surprising. While that might sound like bad news for Chevrolet, it’s really not. It shows just how excited people are for the upcoming 2020 mid-engine Corvette.
It’s also a great opportunity for consumers. Corvette Blogger reported that there are multiple new Corvettes for sale on lots around the country discounted by as much as $23,000. That’s an awesome deal on the last of the front-engine Corvettes. While the C8 mid-engine Corvette is extremely enticing, a discount of that much on the fantastic C7 Corvette would make us think twice about waiting on the upcoming car.
The C7 Corvette is a fantastic sports car, and its the end of an era. The upcoming C8 mid-engine Corvette will change what the Corvette has always been, and we’d think people would want to have the last of the front engine cars, especially at a huge discount.
