Since the arrival of the eighth-generation Stingray Corvette in 2020, and with it, the arrival of Corvette’s first hard-top convertible, it has been a house divided amongst enthusiasts as to which option – coupe or convertible – is the more popular choice. Both versions of the car offer nearly identical performance specs, and while the convertible is slightly heavier, it is also aesthetically more aggressive, which has attracted the attention of many enthusiasts – and more than a few custom performance shops.
Texas-based tuner shop Hennessey Performance has been developing upgrades or the C8 since its arrival in 2020, but on Februaray 27, 2024, they announced a new upgrade package specifcally developed for the C8 Corvette Stingray Hardtop Convertible.
Known as the Hennessey Supercharged H700 C8 Convertible Stingray HTC (or Hard Top Convertible), this is a car for enthusiasts that came to play – and we mean PLAY HARD! First, let’s talk some numbers. The H700 Stingray HTC boasts 708 brake horse power and 638 lb-ft of torque out of its supercharged LT2 V8 engine. That’s more power and punch than the eighth-generation Z06.
The install by Hennessey Performance includes a high-performance, belt-driven supercharger engineered to fit within the restrictive engine compartment of the HTC convertible. The H700 also comes quipped with an air-to-water intercooler, high-flow air induction system, an upgraded fuel system, and a cat-back exhaust system. For those willing to shell out a few more dollars, additional options include an active valve exhaust system, 19-inch allow wheels and a Hennessey C8 Heritage Livery that’s unique to this package…and from its appearance in these pictures, it is a thing of beauty!
All Hennessey Corvette Stingray Hard Top Convertible upgrades include Hennessey and H700 badging, as well as a unique, serialized plaque inside the cockpit. Hennessey also offers al would-be consumers a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty on its upgrades as well.
“We’ve unleashed the power that Chevrolet left on the table, boosting output by more than 200bhp,” said John Hennessey. “Few cars, especially at this price, can deliver this level of power, acceleration, and engaging open-air driving experience alongside the Corvette’s distinctive V8 roar.”
The H700 package is currently available for all 2020-2024 Corvette Stingray Convertibles.
