When Chevrolet reintroduced the ZR1 in 2009, it unveiled one of the most technologically advanced cars of its time. The vehicle was powered by a supercharged 6.2L LS9 V-8 engine producing 638 HP, featuring a dry-sump oil system and a 6-speed manual transmission. This made it incredibly fast, with 0-60 MPH times around 3.4 seconds, 0-100 MPH times approximately 7.6 seconds, and top speeds ranging between 195 MPH and 205 MPH.
The ZR1’s 0-100 MPH time made it faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari F430, and Nissan GT-R in the same category. Today, it’s easy to overlook what a milestone this car was at its introduction and its significance in Corvette history, with only 1,415 units produced for that model year.
The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 you see here courtesy of Bring A Trailer, remains virtually new, having accumulated just 9 miles since new. Furthermore, it is meticulously equipped with a comprehensive suite of premium features, including heated seats with memory settings, a power-adjustable steering column, and a Bose sound system with navigation.
The car features a Jetstream Blue exterior complemented by an Ebony and Dark Titanium leather interior with ZR1 headrest embroidery. The ZR1’s aggressive character is further emphasized by exposed carbon fiber elements on the roof, roof bow, splitter, and rockers. The multi-spoke wheels in 19 and 20-inch diameters, coupled with painted carbon fiber fenders, floor panels, and hood, solidify this ZR1’s presence as a design masterpiece.
