Callaway is known for making some of the craziest Corvettes out there. If you’ve always wanted to own one of these wild cars, you’re in luck. This 1988 Chevrolet Corvette Callaway Twin Turbo is currently for sale at Bring A Trailer.
This particular car was delivered new to Corvette engineer, racecar driver, and former director of GM Performance John Heinricy. He kept the car until 1991. From there it was owned by the seller who lives in Oregon. the car was maintained and well cared for.
This Corvette features a twin-turbocharged 5.7-liter L98 V8. The car is one of the few that was made with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a Laycock overdrive. It has traveled 51,000 miles. 18,000 of those miles were added by the current owner.
The car is finished in metallic blue. Inside you’ll find gray leather interior. The car is offered on consignment with Callaway documentation, NCRS paperwork, service records, a letter from Mr. Heinricy, NCRS documentation, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Oregon title in the owner’s name.
The car is a beautiful example of a 1980s Corvette and a piece of the Corvette and Callaway’s history. It’s a true automotive gem. At the time of this writing, bidding is up to $50,000. There are six days left on the auction.
