FOR SALE: 1956 Chevrolet Corvette

Powered by a a 6.2-liter LS3 crate V8 producing 430 hp

The 1956 model year marked a pivotal evolution for the Corvette. While the 1955 model saw the introduction of a V-8 engine, significantly boosting its performance capabilities, it still lacked some features desired by American consumers. Chevrolet addressed these in 1956 when designer Bob Cadaret gave the Corvette a full makeover.

This redesign included a new body adorned with chrome accents, distinctive side coves inspired by Cadillac’s 1955 Motorama LaSalle II show car—enabling bold two-tone paint schemes—and practical upgrades like roll-up glass windows, an updated convertible top, and external door handles.

Currently available on Bring A Trailer is a 1956 Chevrolet Corvette with a unique twist. This Corvette is powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 crate V8 engine, producing 430 horsepower, mated to a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission.

Modified and refurbished from 2022 to 2024, the Corvette now rides on a Roadster Shop Spec 7 chassis with C7 coilover suspension, front and rear sway bars, and an independent rear axle sourced from a modern Camaro, complete with a limited-slip differential and 3.73:1 gearing. Schott 18-inch wheels wrapped in Firestone tires sit over four-wheel disc brakes.

The car is finished in Arctic Blue with silver side coves, featuring a white soft top, electrically operated hood, re-chromed bumpers, and polished replacement trim. Inside, the cabin has been updated with rebuilt and reupholstered seats, new panels and carpets, Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital gauges, and a retro-style Bluetooth radio.
