On BringATrailer.com, a recent listing has popped up that is the perfect time attack or hill climb car for those either in the sport, or wanting to get into it.
The 2017 Corvette C7 Z06 was bought at a salvage auction and was built up by pro race driver Robb Holland and crew. It complies with the TA1 (Time Attack 1) class of Pikes Peak racing as of 2017’s rules.
The car develops 744 WHP as tested on a dyno, with the stock 6.2-liter LT4 V8 having a Katech Stage 3 E85 conversion kit applied. That power is transferred to the rear wheels via a custom-built 8-speed semi-automatic transmission, with custom mounted shift paddles.
As the car was written off after only 9 miles from the factory (!!!), a lot of the damaged body panels have been replaced with carbon fiber panels. It also comes with a custom fabricated and aerodynamically tuned front spoiler and rear wing.
A full FIA grade roll cage has been installed, and an OMP kill switch, built in tow strap hardpoints, OMP HTE-R carbon fiber racing seat, OMP multi-point racing harness, and a full Cartek fire suppression system cover the safety aspect of the car.
A 10 gallon ATL deformable fuel cell is fitted under the rear hatch. 18 inch Finspeed wheels at all four corners, shod in Pirelli P Zero semi-slicks, complete the package.
This particular Corvette was also part of a story on Jalopnik, and has multiple videos of it doing its race car thing.
The car is currently at 3 bids, with the highest bid being $35,500. The sale ends on August 13, 2020.
