In this new video, which just broke yesterday evening, notable enthusiast and YouTuber Mike from the Brink of Speed channel asks the burning question: “What’s different about these mules?” He proceeds to wonder if they are possibly the C8 Grand Sport or the highly anticipated ZORA.

What’s that you say? You thought the widebody E-Ray took the slot for the Grand Sport? Well, so did most of the journalists and enthusiasts who follow these developments closely. As a matter of fact, only Brink of Speed and Vette Titans have gone on record with the possibility of a Grand Sport model for the C8. More may have jumped on board, but as of a few weeks ago, these two are the only YouTubers I’ve seen with serious speculation of a C8 Grand Sport.

Before we get into the breaking video, I want to show you a chart that Justin from HorsePower Obsessed shared in a recent YouTube video. This chart is at least four years old and was leaked before C8 production ramped up. You’ll likely notice many discrepancies, which is not unheard of for rumors and leaked data. When looking at the natural progression of the C8 models, you can see why the majority of enthusiasts and journalists presumed that the E-Ray had taken the Grand Sport’s spot. And that makes the speculation from Brink of Speed even more compelling. What other notable YouTubers will jump on board, or will the C8 Grand Sport rumor mill fade away?

Without further ado, here is the breaking video from Brink of Speed. What do you think? Are these prototypes the highly anticipated ZORA, or are they the highly disputed C8 Grand Sports?

Video Preview From Brink of Speed:

New C8 Prototype MULES spotted in the Colorado Mountains! Ladies and gentlemen, today I will show you NEW C8 Corvette mules that my good friend Chris took pictures and a video of. He also asked questions and was shown something amazing on one of the mules.”

Notable Time Stamps With Cliff Notes:

  • [1:51] The mules are spotted in a parking garage!
  • [2:45] Mike addresses the Grand Sport speculation and says, “I do believe we are getting a Grand Sport…”
  • [4:00] Mike goes over some of the details that he has not seen on other wrapped mules.
  • [5:01] The video zooms in on something that looks like a “plug-in,” like was seen on E-Ray mules.
  • [5:41] The “top scoop” used for cooling on the 2025 ZR1 Coupe is missing… the PLOT thickens!
  • [8:53] Mike zooms in on a ZR1 mule with the hybrid tell, which is the vertical front radiator similar to the E-Ray (screenshot below video).
  • [9:44] The GM employee runs over to put the cover back on the mule!
  • [10:50] Mike talks about how his friend, who grabbed the photos and video, could see the engine in one of the mules. After comparing notes, they confirmed that at least one of these mules had the twin-turbocharged LT7 with the hybrid electric motor up front.
  • [11:23] Mike’s declaration:I’m betting all my money right now that we’re getting the LT7 in the rear with 1,064 horsepower and the front motor with 160 horsepower, so like I said, 1,224 horsepower…”
