Corvette Of The Day: 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Coupe Pace Car Edition

The Chevrolet Corvette was once again chosen as the official pace car for the 102nd Indy 500 in 2018. This was the Corvette’s 15th appearance as the Indy 500 pace car, a tradition dating back to 1978. Chevrolet prepared a 2019 Corvette ZR1, equipped with a supercharged 6.2L LT5 V-8 engine producing 755 HP and 715 lb-ft of torque.

An 8-speed automatic transmission, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and an electronic limited-slip differential enhance its performance. Additional features include the ZTK Performance Package, offering a stanchion-mounted carbon-fiber rear wing, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and a sport-tuned suspension.

The car also sports original-style pace car graphics, Active Handling stability, a carbon-fiber roof panel, and a visible carbon-fiber hood window. Inside, it’s equipped with a head-up display, Premium Bose audio, high-gloss carbon-fiber trim, and HID xenon headlights. The ZR1 rides on chrome-aluminum wheels and is safeguarded by an advanced theft-deterrent system.
