The ‘C7′ Z06 returned in 2019, marking the conclusion of nearly 66 years of producing front-engined sports cars in Bowling Green. It maintained its 650-horsepower supercharged ‘LT4’ V8 engine and offered a choice between an eight-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmission, available in both coupe and convertible body styles.
The Z06 boasted a remarkable 0-60 time of 2.95 seconds and a top speed of 185 mph, which could be further enhanced with optional upgrades like Brembo carbon ceramic brakes for improved braking performance and reduced unsprung weight.
In its ‘Final Edition’ configuration, the Z06 came with a package of features, including Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, Competition sports seats, the Performance Data Recorder, and a specially tuned chassis calibration designed for racetracks. The Z07 package, offering aerodynamic components and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, was also available as an option.
The exterior featured a carbon-fiber front splitter and side skirts, with a choice of two paint colors: Sebring Orange Metallic or Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic. Inside, Final Edition models, regardless of color or option selection, featured a Nappa black leather interior with synthetic suede accents on the seats, steering wheel, gearshift, instrument panel cover, doors, and center console. Carbon-fiber high gloss trim was standard, with blue contrast stitching for Ceramic Matrix Gray cars and orange contrast stitching for Sebring Orange cars.
