The launch of a new Corvette is always significant, and the 2014 C7 model brought major updates, including enhanced performance and a sleek, international design. To celebrate its debut, Chevrolet introduced the Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition, producing only 500 units.
The C7-generation featured an entirely new design, from the hydro-formed aluminum frame to the sharp, aerodynamic body. Its performance was impressive, with a standard 455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Transmission options included a 7-speed Tremec manual with automatic rev-matching for downshifts and a 6-speed paddle-shift automatic.
The C7 also introduced an independent suspension system with StabiliTrak electronic stability control, 4-piston ABS disc brakes, and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels. Every aspect of the Stingray’s design was focused on optimizing airflow, and the interior—once a point of criticism—now boasted a high-quality performance cockpit.
The Premiere Edition included unique details such as Stingray logos on the center caps and sill plates, a distinctive “stinger” stripe on the hood, and custom Vette-branded luggage by Thule. Available only in Laguna Blue, this special edition came with brown faux suede upholstery, carbon-fiber interior trim, and an exposed carbon-fiber roof.
