Corvette Of The Day: 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

The ZR1 has evolved into the ultimate embodiment of Corvette’s technology-driven performance heritage, spanning over six decades. In 1970, Chevrolet introduced the ZR1 option package for the third-generation Corvette, available with the LT1 engine.

This exclusive, high-performance option featured solid lifters, a heavy-duty 4-speed transmission, power brakes, an aluminum radiator, and a revised, high-performance suspension system. Only 58 ZR1-equipped Corvettes were sold in its inaugural year. In the subsequent model years, the ZR1 package continued to represent Corvette’s commitment to exclusivity and exceptional performance.

Fast forward to the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which stands as one of the closest street-legal iterations of a C6 racing Corvette. This ZR1 is powered by a 6.2L supercharged LS9 V-8 engine, delivering an impressive 638 HP through its 6-speed manual transmission.
