Introduced in 2005, the C6 Corvette continued the advancements of the C5 and offered special editions like the ZR1, Z06, and Grand Sport. The Grand Sport debuted in 2010 at the National Corvette Museum during the 12th Annual C5/C6 Corvette Birthday Bash. It came with as stiffer springs, revised shocks, thicker anti-sway bars, wider tires with forged aluminum wheels, and Z06 brakes to improve handling.
Manual transmissions had different gear ratios and launch control, while automatic transmissions had specific rear end gearing. Manual-equipped coupes featured hand-built LS3 6.2L V-8 engines. Production numbers were limited, with fewer than 12,000 units made in 2012, ending in 2013 when the C7 was introduced for 2014.
This 2012 Corvette Grand Sport convertible is equipped with an SC606-specification 6.2L LS3 V-8 engine upgraded with a Callaway supercharger kit and Callaway Double D exhaust system, boosting its horsepower to 606 HP. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission.
