This 2009 coupe is reportedly 1 of 5 Corvettes built by Chevrolet exclusively for track use by Callaway Competition. All these five cars were assembled alongside regular Corvettes in 2009 before they was sent to Callaway Competition in Germany while bearing a serial number that reads “EX.” These cars then competed in numerous GT4 events and managed to won three championships.
Under the hood is a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 that was modified by Callaway Competition and has been overhauled by APP Racing Engines. Modifications include dry-sump lubrication, Kooks exhaust headers, a fabricated exhaust system, auxiliary cooling systems, a carbon-fiber air intake, and an ATL fuel cell. The engine sends power to the rear wheels via a Holinger six-speed sequential gearbox that is said to have been installed by DAV-V-TEC Engineering in Holland.
