Corvette Of The Day: 1995 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1

Despite rave reviews and impressive performance, the 1990 Corvette ZR-1 struggled to find buyers. Sales dropped from a peak of over 3,000 in its first year to just 448 by 1995, leading Chevrolet to end production. However, the ZR-1 remained the most powerful and well-equipped Corvette for two decades.

Recognizable by its unique rear design for massive Z-rated tires, the ZR-1 boasted a driver-focused interior with power sport seats, advanced handling technologies, and a luxurious sound system. The heart of the beast was the legendary LT5 engine, a collaboration between Lotus and Chevrolet.

This masterpiece produced a thrilling 405 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque, making the 1995 Corvette ZR-1 the pinnacle of 4th generation Corvette performance. Even though its time was short, the ZR1 left an undeniable mark on Corvette history.
