Built using a shortened Porsche 914/6 chassis and a steel body designed by Pininfarina, the 1972 Chevrolet Corvette XP-897 GT (for a quick time) showed us what the future of the Corvette could’ve been. The mid-engine concept had 180 horsepower and made its official debut at the 1973 Paris Motor Show.
