It’s a Good Looking Steering Wheel
Due to the various spy shots of the C8 Corvette’s interior, we already knew what the steering wheel of the car looked like. However, those images weren’t official, and it’s nice to see Chevy showing off some parts of the car ahead of the vehicle’s launch.
The debut of the C8 Corvette will be on July 18, which is coming up this week! The teaser of the steering wheel is a good move. This is a good high-resolution shot but doesn’t let out any information that people didn’t already know.
The steering wheel itself is an attractive one. It features a two-spoke design with large paddle shifters behind it and plenty of buttons for controlling the digital instrument cluster, cruise control, and other vehicle features and functions. It’s vastly different than the steering wheels in previous generations of the Corvette.
One button that we have pointed out before. It’s simply labeled “Z.” It’s unclear what this button does, but if we were to guess, we’d suspect it’s some kind of drive mode button.
In the center of the steering wheel is the new Corvette logo surrounded by a chrome ring the same shape as the center of the steering wheel. The rest of the wheel looks to be high-quality leather and plastics. The steering wheel isn’t a perfect circle or oval. It has a bit of a racecar look to it with a flat top and a flat bottom.
This is to be expected from a car as powerful and sporty as the Corvette. Overall, it’s a great looking steering wheel and worthy of the Corvette. We can’t wait to see it in the car on Thursday.
