The 2021 Corvette Stingray represents the sophomore model year of Chevrolet's beloved mid-engine sports car.  Arriving immediately on the tail of an abbreviated 2020 model year, the 2021 Corvette Stingray became one of the most sought-after sports cars of the year. Chevy added a number of new improvements, colors and options for the 2021 model year.
Production of the 2021 Mid-Engine Corvette Stingray was cut short by General Motors. Production of the 2021 MY (model years) was paused in May and June, 2021, due in large part to an ongoing shortage of semiconductor chips. The Coupe proved the more popular bodystyle.
In June 2021, General Motors introduced the 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition, a special edition Corvette which commemorates the Corvette C8.R and its 2020 IMSA WeatherTech racing series championship. The car made its public debut at Belle Isle in Detroit. These special edition Corvettes were developed using styling cues from the Corvette C8.R race cars.
