You can call me old school, but stock is stock, as it rolled off the Bowling Green Assembly line. Stock does not have an asterisk. Some say, but it’s just tires! Well yes, but have you looked at the difference tires make with some of the yearly race track events like the Lightning Lap? You’ll often hear the editors and test drivers tell you how much a tire upgrade from the factory helped with lap times.
So, now that we have the semantics and asterisk out of the way for one of these “stock” records, with some awesome driving Will Farmer rips off two records, “stock” and actual off-the-factory-line stock. Will blasts to a 10.16 second quarter mile time with aftermarket wheels and race tires, at a blazingly fast 135 mph.
But what was he able to do completely stock? How about a 10.26 at 134 mph! After just 10 days, the E-Ray has been kicked off the Corvette King of the Quarter-Mile Hill. I love the new C8 Z06 and I truly appreciate all the tuners and enthusiasts who entertain us with these accomplishments and videos. We often have vibrant discussions on our Facebook page, I would love to hear what you think about these new records. Douglas B.
