Let’s see which car reigns supreme in a quarter-mile drag race: the iconic American sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette C8, or the legendary Japanese powerhouse, the Nissan GT-R R35.
Packing a naturally-aspirated 6.2L V8 engine churning out 490 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque, this lightweight beast (around 1.5 tons) boasts an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. It rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.9 seconds with launch control.
The Nissan GT-R R35, on the other hand, packs a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine, unleashing 578 horsepower and 632 lb-ft of torque. With a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, it rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds. Unlike the Corvette, the GT-R boasts an all-wheel-drive system, which can make a lot of difference even if it is heavier than the C8.
