C6 Corvette Beats The Ford F-150 Raptor In A Drag Race

In their newest episode of This vs. That, Hoonigan set up a showdown between a 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and a 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R.

Originally, the faceoff was intended to be between a 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (C6) and a 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor. The Ford F-150 Raptor is equipped with a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V8 Coyote engine swap that can put out 1,017 horsepower. However, the truck encountered an unfortunate incident with its engine exploding at the starting line.

Luckily, a Ford F-150 Raptor R was just standing by and stepped in as a substitute to take on the C6 Corvette. The Ford Raptor R is equipped with a 5.2-liter V8 engine producing 700 hp. Tipping the scales at 6,000 pounds, this truck features a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. Notably, the same V8 engine can be found in the Mustang Shelby GT500. Ford positioned the Raptor R as its most powerful Raptor ever, designed for high-performance off-roading.

The C6 Chevy Corvette, on the other hand, is propelled by a 6.2-liter engine generating 550 hp. Weighing in at 3,330 pounds, it boasts a six-speed manual transmission that channels power to the rear wheels. With its wide-body styling and race-inspired suspension, the Corvette provides an exceptional balance of performance for both road and track, as highlighted by Chevrolet.
