A 1966 Chevrolet Corvette C2 convertible was recently sold on Bring A Trailer for $98,000.
The convertible had a Mosport Green finish matched with dark green upholstery and was repainted by previous owners. It has a body-color hardtop and a white soft convertible top, which can be seen in the pictures.
Under the hood of the Corvette is a 427 ci L72 V8 engine with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, linked to a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. It was also equipped with a Positraction rear end, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, Delco radio, and air conditioning. It was also given a turbine-style 15-inch wheels with three-eared spinners and staggered-width BFGoodrich Silvertown tires.
During prior ownership, the car was refurbished and in 1993 it was given the Bloomington Gold certification. In 1994 the example was given the Duntov Award. It was also during prior ownership that a brake booster kit was installed in the example.
Based on the trim tag, the interior is also in green (430) while the seats have replacement leather seating surfaces and lap belts for both occupants. The center stack has the vertically mounted Delco AM/FM radio. Instrumentation on the C2 includes a tachometer, supplementary gauges, and a 160-mph speedometer. There is also a five-digit odometer with roughly 59k miles although actual mileage of the example is unknown.
The example spent some time in Germany before the current seller purchased it in March 2021. The C2 comes with scoring sheets and a clean Florida title.
