Why Buying a 2001-2004 C5 Z06 Corvette is an Amazing Bargain!
When it comes to performance-on-a-budget, there are few sports cars on the market that offer as much power and handing as the C5 Z06 Chevy Corvette. While the newest Corvette – the mid-engine C8 – may set you back a bit financially, the affordability of the used Corvette market has really improved over the past ten years. Even the newer sixth- and seventh-generation Corvettes are dropping dramatically in price, but when it comes to straight “bang for the buck,” you won’t find many cars that offer track-level performance for the prices that the C5 Corvette Z06’s is selling for in today’s market.
But does affordable mean cheap? Not at all. In fact, we’ve spent a lot of time over the years sharing the facts and figures of every Corvette ever built. It’s only recently though that we’ve seen the prices drop dramatically on the fifth-generation Corvettes. Sure, the base models have been affordable for awhile, but now the Z06 iterations – those coveted cars developed by David Hill to dominate on the racetrack – have dropped in price to a point where just about everyone can afford one!
Recently, I watched a video created by YouTuber Doug DeMuro that really exemplifies the affordability and the value that the fifth-generation Z06 Corvette offers. While I’ve never met Doug or had an opportunity to speak with him, I have followed his YouTube channel for years. Doug has made a career of reviewing – and driving – some of the most prestigious, most expensive, most exclusive supercars on the market…and when I say exclusive, I mean cars like the Ferrari F40, the Porsche 918, the Pagani Huayra, even the Bugatti Veyron to name a few…so when he says that the C5 Z06 Corvette is an amazing bargain, that’s a pretty strong endorsement when you consider the source.
Here’s Doug’s video review of the C5 Z06 Corvette. The video is kind of long, but only because Doug gives you a complete overview of all the car’s cool “quirks and features.”
