1967 Jeff Hayes Corvette Sting Ray
Check out this 1967 custom-built Corvette Sting Ray!

First up is a one-of-a-kind Jeff Hayes built 1967 Chevrolet Corvette coupe that’s currently listed for sale on Ebay.

This car was built by the American Speed Shop in Bloomington, Indiana.  The American Speed Shop was known for having built a number of top-quality Corvette restorations and custom builds.  While the company appears to have been dissolved by Mr. Hayes, the quality of his builds lives on as evidenced by this car.

This 1967 Corvette Sting Ray features a fully restored exterior that is stunning in the original GM’s 1967 Silver Pearl paint.  All of the car’s chrome and stainless steel has been preserved, including the car’s original chromed driver’s mirror and factory-style side exhaust outlets.

However, when you look under the surface, you’ll find that this Corvette is anything but bone-stock.

Beneath the power-actuated hood is an all-aluminum LS3 V8 engine from GM Performance Parts.   This electronically fuel-injected powerplant has been tuned to produce an impressive 525 horsepower!  The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and a stock C6 Corvette rear differential.

The car features a completely powder-coated, professionally fabricated custom steel-tube chassis that includes a C6 front and C5 rear independent suspension with aluminum double wishbones (which are also powder-coated.)   Mated to the axles are a pair of 18-inch front and 19-inch rear aluminum wheels wrapped in Toyo red-stripe tires – 235/40-18 in the front and 275/35-19 in the rear.  Visible thru the wheels are red, powder-coated, 6-piston calipers from a C6 Z06 Corvette, and a nd a pair of 4-piston Z06 calipers in the back.  The car also features drilled and slotted rotors.

The car’s interior is wrapped in red leather, with custom red carpeting.  The car features bolstered seats, polished billet controls, tilt steering, power steering, power brakes, Vintage Air, Auto Meter gauges and a retro-designed AM/FM radio with Bluetooth.
