To honor the legacy of famous Chevrolet dealer and racer Don Yenko, Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) has been building some of the most powerful modern Chevrolets, including a limited-production, 1,000-horsepower Yenko/SC Stage II Corvette — like this 2019 Grand Sport currently listed for sale on Bring a Trailer.
This particular car is number 15 of just 25 built. It was equipped with the Z07 Ultimate Performance Package, featuring massive carbon-ceramic brake rotors, enlarged front winglets, extended side skirts, and a transparent section integrated into the rear spoiler. It also has stiffer suspension with improved springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars for better handling and performance.
On top of that, the SVE upgrade added a 2.9L supercharger and many other changes to boost the engine to 1,000 horsepower and 875 lb-ft of torque. The original 6.2L LT1 V8 engine was enlarged to 6.8L. It was reinforced with racing-grade components, including a forged steel crankshaft, forged pistons, high-performance cylinder heads, and a heavy-duty belt drive system.
This setup produces an impressive 1,000 horsepower and 875 lb-ft of torque, delivered through a 7-speed manual transmission. It also has high-performance Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes behind black alloy wheels with pinstripes and Michelin Super Sport Cup 2 tires.
Visually, the car makes a bold statement in Sebring Orange with classic Yenko stripes and orange brake calipers. Inside, it features black leather and microsuede seats with SYC embroidery on the headrests, plus coordinated accents on the dash, center console, and doors.
