In a new video from The Fast Lane Car on YouTube, we get to see an interesting drag race between depreciated sports cars that includes a 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, a 2015 BMW i8, a 2014 Tesla Model S, and a 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette.
Each of the cars has lost a significant chunk of their original value. The Aston Martin, once priced above $120,000, can now be found for around $33,000. The BMW i8, originally over $120,000, has dropped to about $48,000. The Tesla Model S, once an $80,000 luxury EV, now sells for as little as $13,000. The C8 Corvette, while being the newest, most powerful and most expensive in the lineup, has also seen its prices drop from a $77,000 starting point to around $55,000 on the used market.
The first race pits a 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage against a 2015 BMW i8. The Aston, with its 4.3L V8 and manual transmission, brings classic sports car charm, but the i8’s hybrid system and all-wheel drive give it the edge in acceleration. The BMW then goes up against a 2014 Tesla Model S 85. Despite Tesla’s reputation for instant torque, the older battery technology holds it back, allowing the i8 to take another win.
The final and most exciting matchup features the i8 against the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette, which we won’t spoil the results of. So you better watch the video if the BMW i8 managed to beat the Corvette!
