This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window coupe, built in December 1962, was initially sold by Tucker & Son Chevrolet in Folsom, California. It was first purchased in 1963, sold in 1968, and reacquired in 2006 by its original owner, who commissioned a body-off restoration completed in 2010.
The fiberglass body, originally Sebring Silver, was repainted during restoration. Exterior features include flip-up headlights, fender vents, quad taillights, chrome bumperettes, and rear-exit exhaust tips. The restored red vinyl interior features reupholstered bucket seats, a Delco AM radio, and a complete set of refurbished gauges, including a 160-mph speedometer and a 5,300-rpm redline tachometer.
The 15” steel wheels with three-eared spinner-style hubcaps are fitted with Milestar 205/75 tires. Power-assisted four-wheel drums handle braking, and the independent suspension—a first for the Corvette—was overhauled during the 2010 refurbishment.
Power is provided by a 327ci L75 V8 producing 300 horsepower with a four-barrel carburetor and off-road exhaust system. The four-speed manual transmission and Positraction differential were refurbished alongside the engine in 2010. This iconic split-window Corvette is now available for bidding on Bring a Trailer with a copy of the window sticker, NCRS Shipping Data Report, refurbishment photos, and removed parts.
