FOR SALE: 1960 Chevrolet Corvette 283/245

Earned the coveted Triple Crown Award in 1997

Chevrolet pushed the Corvette’s boundaries in the 1960s with five engine options, three transmission choices, and four differential gear ratios. The goal was to refine the Corvette into a globally competitive sports car in speed, drivability, durability, and reliability.

The 1960 models included upgrades like an aluminum radiator on the 270 and 290 HP versions, an improved sway bar, a lighter clutch housing, and hydraulic brakes. For performance enthusiasts, the Corvette offered sintered metallic brakes with cooling fans, quick-ratio steering, and broader tubeless tires.

This stunning 1960 Corvette, currently available on Bring A Trailer, exemplifies that legacy. Refurbished in the 1990s, it has received numerous prestigious awards, including the coveted Triple Crown Award in 1997, which includes the NCRS Top Flight, Bloomington Gold Certificate, and Chevy/Vettefest Nationals Gold Spinner Award.

Powered by a 283ci V8 engine with two Carter four-barrel carburetors, it produces 245 horsepower and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in a striking combination of Tasco Turquoise with Ermine White coves, a white soft top, and a turquoise vinyl interior.

Additional features include a removable body-color hardtop, 15” steel wheels, lap belts, and a Wonder Bar AM radio. This award-winning Corvette, complete with its owner’s manual and other documentation, is a rare gem for any serious collector.
