Bringing A C8 Corvette With Z51 Package To The Track

The 2022 C8 Corvette continues leveraging its potent 6.2L V8 engine, delivering 490 horsepower and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Z51 Performance Package enhances the base Corvette’s capabilities, ensuring sustained high performance during track sessions without overheating or braking issues.

This package adds five extra horsepower through a dual-mode performance exhaust. It features Michelin Pilot Sport 4S ZP summer tires, larger brake rotors with Z51-logo calipers, and an electronic limited-slip differential with a 5.17:1 performance axle ratio.

The Z51 package also includes a performance-tuned suspension, further refined by the optional FE4 Magnetic Select Ride Control system, which offers three dry-weather driving modes: Tour, Sport, and Track. Aerodynamic enhancements, such as a larger front splitter and a distinctive rear spoiler, contribute 400 pounds of downforce at speed.

A video from Zygrene on YouTube highlights the performance capabilities of a 2022 C8 Corvette Z51 with AP Racing brakes on both axles, Apex wheels, and Continental ExtremeContact Force tires as they push it to the limits around Laguna Seca.
