The M2, a performance-oriented compact sedan from BMW, is often compared to the C7 Z06, a legendary sports car from Chevrolet. In a recent YouTube video, YouTuber Jvet01 compares these two formidable vehicles in a series of drag races and roll races.
In terms of power, the C7 Z06 takes the lead with its supercharged V8 engine, producing 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The M2, on the other hand, is powered by a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine that generates 453 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. While the C7 Z06 offers a significant power advantage, the M2 boasts a more efficient engine and better fuel economy.
As expected, the C7 Z06 consistently outperforms the M2 in straight-line drag races. The same goes during the rolling races (where both cars start at a rolling speed). The M2 was still beaten but it somehow manages to keep up with the Corvette thanks to its all-wheel drive and quick launch control.
