Built from 1969 to 1971, the Chevrolet Corvette Baldwin Motion Phase III GT stands out as one of the rarest, with only 10 ever produced. A collaborative effort between Joel Rosen’s Motion Performance and Baldwin Chevrolet in Long Island, New York, these street-strip beasts boasted the 427 MkIV power. Rosen, renowned for his tuning prowess, joined forces with Baldwin in 1969, offering the audacious Phase III package with a written guarantee for 11-second quarter-mile times, a promise never contested.
Despite their fearsome reputation, these modified Corvettes were celebrated for both their racing success and their civilized street performance. This 1969 model, one of the 10, received 14 different Motion modifications, featuring Le Mans-style headlights, a functional hood scoop, reversed side louvers, flared wheel wells, a fastback rear window, and more.
The car’s power came from the L71 427/435 HP big-block V-8, matched with a Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. Its unique Candyapple Gold and black finish, coupled with the unique Shelby sides scoops on the B-pillars, make it the sole Phase III Corvette with this striking aesthetic.
