I’m on all the notable Corvette forums and social media pages all day every day, and I’ve done the legwork for you. Here are some compelling stories from the Corvette community, with concise straight-to-the-point summaries for your busy lifestyle.
1) 2024 C8 Wins Most Satisfying Car
Despite what some of the negative anecdotal reports from social media may indicate (we did a special feature here), satisfaction among C8 owners is remarkably high. The specific question Consumer Reports asked in their annual survey was this:
“If you had it to do all over again, would you definitely buy or lease the same model?”
And the results?
That’s an impressive number, so congrats to GM! But, this high percentage can be a bit misleading, as the love affair for the beloved Corvette can sometimes defy logic and reason. A case in point was my recent feature, titled “Nothing Can Stop My Love For This Car! I Just Want The Issues To Stop“, which was a direct quote from an owner venting on a popular C8-dedicated Facebook page.
If you’re curious, here are the vehicles that round out the top 10:
- 2nd: Rivian R1T at 88%
- 3rd: Mazda MX-5 Miata at 88%
- 4th: Lexus NX PHEV at 87%
- 5th: BMW X5 at 85%
- 6th: Rivian R1S at 84%
- 7th: Ford Maverick Hybrid at 83%
- 8th: Kia Telluride at 82%
- 9th: Honda Pilot at 82%
- 10th: Hyunda Ioniq 6 at 81%
2) 2024 Bowling Green Updates: Are Z06 and E-Ray Production Still Erratic?
As you can see on the chart below, Stingray production is humming along, but Z06s and E-Rays are coming off the line a bit erratically, especially the much anticipated (and controversial) first Hybrid Corvette. First, let’s take a quick look at the numbers (chart credited to Roger Kiel).
That 222 number from January 21st sure is encouraging for enthusiasts patiently waiting for their C8s! And frankly, any number close to 200 is quite respectable. If you want to take a bit of a deeper dive into the zero production days for the Z06 and E-Ray, check out our CorvSport features here:
