The Corvette’s second year of production mirrored the year before, with minimal changes. Mechanical updates included adjustments to fuel and brake line routing, along with a modified starter and air cleaner. The 150 HP, 235 CI Blue Flame Six engine with three side-draft carburetors and a 2-speed Powerglide automatic continued as the sole powerplant option.
In 1954, Corvette production saw a significant tenfold increase from the previous year, with Chevrolet manufacturing over 3,000 units annually. The expanded production also led to a greater variety of color choices for buyers.
While the original Polo White exterior with a red interior remained popular and was the most frequently chosen combination, additional options such as Pennant Blue, Sportsman Red, and Black were introduced. A new interior upholstery color, Beige, was also added.
Although the Polo White and red interior combination remained the top choice with 3,230 units produced, Pennant Blue with Beige interior became the second most popular, accounting for just 300 units. The total Corvette production for the year reached 3,640 units.
